Boy oh boy, the ultimate Flagship killer is back. Get your wallets ready cause this phone is going to rock the smartphone market. Recently OnePlus showed off their new killer, the OnePlus 3. The new OnePlus 3 has new upgraded internals.
Under the Hood of the OnePlus 3
As of the powerhouse, it sports a Snapdragon 820 which is a quad core based on 2x 2.2GHz cores and 2x 1.6Ghz cores to save battery, of course. The phone also boasts 6GB of DDR4 RAM with 64GB of non-expandable storage which seems fine for most users. As of the panel, its rocking the classic AMOLED 1080p resolution screen at 5.5 inches covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 which will help even more to save battery life and reduce stress on the GPU, the Adreno 530, allowing the phone run even smoother. This time you’ll have the same USB C port and the classic 3.5mm jack which is a pleasant thing to see, the future for USB C is bright!
The phone weighs under 158g and is built of aluminum. For color options you have Graphite Grey/Soft Gold. The OnePlus 3 will be running OxygenOS based on Android Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box
The Battery Revamped! NFC is BACK BABY!
As of the battery, it has a 3000mAh battery with a technology called Dash Charge, this is an awesome implementation. Accroding to many users who has access to the phone earlier they claim that the battery life is excellent and having the phone charge so fast is just a pleasant deal.
Moreover those who were disappointed by OnePlus for ditching the NFC on the OnePlus two, OnePlus has learnt their lesson. NFC is back on the OnePlus 3 in all its former glory.
As of the camera, its rocking a 16MP Sony IMX 298 sensor with OIS and PDAF Auto-Focus with support upto 4k video at 30FPS for the rear. As of the front camera, its rocking a Sony IMX179 for the front which is expected to take great photos for many selfie lovers.
The Fingerprint Sensor Relives!
According to OnePlus the new fingerprint sensor is more accurate and much more faster. According to OnePlus on their page they stated:
Our improved fingerprint sensor unlocks your OnePlus 3 in just 0.2 seconds, even from a sleeping screen. Fashioned out of premium ceramic for an artisanal touch, the fingerprint sensor actively learns and progressively improves, so your scans get even more precise over time. It’s fast, it’s accurate, and it’s secure.
We can’t really say anything about how accurate the fingerprint sensor is, but I loved to see that the phone learns about your fingerprint over time morally improving the unlock hassle.
Since the very first OnePlus, OnePlus touted itself “The Flagship Killer” Well why was that? The biggest reason is the pricing. If OnePlus were to be in the same pricing league as Samsung and other brands it wouldn’t have gained much exposure. For this reason OnePlus has kept their pricing considerably low while offering the same experience of the phones costing almost double the price of itself. For the pricing of the OnePlus 3, it is priced at ₹27,999 in India which translates to $399 in the US and RM1699 here in Malaysia.
