Far Cry 5 is going to be the sequel to Far Cry Primal. Ubisoft has not confirmed the existence of Far Cry 5 nor they have revealed any release date, but according to a GameStop listing, Far Cry 5 is going to launch in November 2017.
In GameStop’s upcoming releases list, Far Cry 5 was listed for PlayStation 4. The exact release date listed in GameStop’s upcoming releases list is November 26, 2017. This release date may not be accurate, because 26th November 2017 is a Sunday and new titles aren’t usually launched on that date.
To verify the authenticity of the listing, SGGamingInfo‘s writer Aaron Meehan contacted GameStop. This is what he says:
“To see if the listing was accurate, SG Gaming Info contacted a local GameStop and quoted the SKU code that was attached to Far Cry 5. The GameStop employee who I talked to confirmed that the SKU code was attached to Far Cry 5 and that GameStop had the game down for a November 2017 release. In two separate emails to GameStop’s support department in which I provided the game’s SKU code, I received the following reply to both emails, “Unfortunately we are out of stock of Far Cry 5 for the PS4 and can’t guarantee more stock will be made available again to us from the vendor”. GameStop did not provide any additional information either over the phone or via email.“ “
SGGamingInfo’s Aaron Meehan also contacted Ubisoft about this and he received the following reply:
“We don’t comment on rumour or speculation I’m afraid.”
As you can see above, Ubisoft has nothing to say about this. They do not confirm nor deny this. So yeah, Far Cry 5 may be coming later this year. However, this is not confirmed, you should take this with a grain of salt. Far Cry 5 will probably release on all major platforms, PS4, PC and Xbox One.
