HTC has finally revealed the U11. After a slew of rumors, the HTC U11 is here, and it’s here to stay for 2017! HTC is going to launch the U11 by next month in a few countries. HTC is offering the U11 for a not too shabby price of $650 putting it well into the flagship pricing category.
For what HTC puts on the table, the HTC U11 brings the squeezing rumors to an end. From the touch sensitive edges, HTC actually opted for squeezable edges that perform various shortcuts that are pretty handy for those who love to you their phone single-handed. Such shortcuts and functions could easily be assigned for other functions and it’s nice to see HTC take something in the direction.
As usual, the $650 price tag brings in all of the highest-end of the party. Packing a Qualcomm 835 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, the HTC U11 doesn’t ring any bells here. Water-resistance is present, along with a camera that takes the cake for 1st place in DXOMark’s tests, HTC is definitely settling in.
The U11 comes with a 16MP f/2.0 camera for the front and a 12MP f/1.7 camera for the rear and is capable of recording videos up to 4K. Slo-mo is also present for videos upto 1080p at 120FPS.
Taking HTC’s rivals into account, the HTC U11 comes with the standard 16:9 display giving the bezels some love. But it doesn’t look bad. Following Apple’s traits, the U11 also removes the headphone jack that may upset many. And the lack of applications that will support the pressure-sensitive edges are limited for now.
Overall, the HTC U11 really looks like a great phone that shouldn’t be under-estimated.
