Microsoft has announced a new initiative. You will make some money from your own Xbox One Design Lab controller skin.
After offering rewards to players who try out free-to-play games, Microsoft will be launching another initiative that is going to reward Xbox One gamers. Users who will make popular Xbox One Design Lab controller skins will get rewarded Xbox Store digital currency, depending on the sales of the skin they designed. If your skin is very popular, it may even get featured in Xbox’s marketing campaign.
When you design a controller on the platform, beyond owning it, the unique design actually becomes yours, yours to name and yours to promote–for the first time you can earn from it, we’ll even give you all the marketing tools so you can push it yourself.
– Said Chief Creative Officer of Xbox ad agency McCan London, Laurence Thomson, to GameSpot.
Xbox Design Lab was launched back at E3 2016. Users can make their own custom controller with over 8 million different combinations to choose from – for only $79.99.
