Call of Duty 2 is the game which put the CoD franchise on the path of being one of the most successful video game franchise ever. Call of Duty 2 is developed by Infinity Ward and published by Konami and Activision. The game released almost 10 years ago, in 2005 on PC and Xbox 360. Call of Duty 2 was a huge leap forward from the original Call of Duty. It featured improved graphics, major gameplay changes and a great campaign. The Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty 2 has sold more than 6 million copies. Call of Duty 2 also had an immersive multiplayer mode too that included 4 modes i.e. Deathmatch, Search & Destroy, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag.
Now, almost 10 years have passed since Call of Duty 2 released and now, the game is making its way on the Xbox One. Microsoft’s Major Nelson (Larry Hryb) has announced on Twitter that the game is coming to Xbox One backward compatibility list. For quite some time now, not-so-popular games like Boom Boom Rocket are coming to Xbox One backward compatibility list. So yeah, this time, we’re seeing an interesting title being added to the list.
You can get Call of Duty 2 for the Xbox One from Xbox Store for £14.99 (around $20 USD). And yes, if you have a physical disk of the game, you can just put the disk into your Xbox One and you’ll get a prompt to download the required files, for free.
