Recently, Bethesda announced that they have cancelled mod support of Fallout 4 and Skyrim for the PlayStation 4. According to Bethesda, they cancelled the mod support for the PlayStation 4 because Sony said no.
“Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work.”
After this, hot discussions started on the internet gaming communities and many people were saying that Bethesda did this because they have an exclusive deal with Xbox. One Twitter user took this directly to Pete Hines, the Vice President of PR/Marketing at Bethesda.
that is absolutely not true. We would have released mods on PS4 some time ago if it was up to us. We were told no.

As you can see above, Bethesda denied this allegation. It seems like Sony did say ‘no’ to Bethesda. The mod support of Fallout 4 and Skyrim on the PlayStation 4 was cancelled because of Sony. Bethesda did say that they’re working on some kind of mod support of Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition on the PlayStation 4.
So there you have it. This is Bethesda’s response to people believing that they cancelled the mod support because of an exclusive deal with Xbox. Stay tuned to GeeksULTD for more.
