Ace Combat 7 is Bandai Namco’s next sequel aiming to give fans some exciting flight gameplay. The game is set to release somewhere in 2018 with no sign of confirmations about the exact release date anywhere.
The Ace Combat series has always aimed to bring in excellent dog-fights in the skies. With the latest lineup making its way into the series, Ace Combat 7 seems to shaping into an excellent title. Ace Combat 7 is set to release on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Digital Foundry, a YouTube channel specializing in analyzing games and technology took a look at Ace Combat 7 prior to its release and showcased some excellent information regarding Ace Combat 7. Despite looking excellent on the PlayStation 4, Digital Foundry reported that they had the chance to check out Ace Combat 7 in VR as well. They reported that the VR experience of Ace Combat 7 was severely downgraded, but the game is still in development. Digital Foundry also asked Bandai Namco regarding their plans to support the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, Digital Foundry said:
“We did ask Kono-San about future support of the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive and the PC version of AC7 and unfortunately it seems to be a PSVR exclusive for now”
Sony’s exclusive PSVR is proving to be an excellent add-on to the PlayStation 4 with no word about Microsoft even catching up on the VR gaming experience. Sony’s chance of taking AC7 to the skies with VR are really exciting especially with the excellent visuals of the game.
Unfortunately, PC gamers would have to wait for any news if Bandai Namco is really going to support the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive in the future. However, it seems like Bandai Namco is really looking forward to prepare AC7 for a stable release. Afterall, the standard PlayStation 4 barely managed to stay stable with frame-rates hovering between 40-50FPS.
