CEO of Atari Confirms That a New Atari Console Is In The Making

If you were born in the 90s, you might remember a very popular video game console called “Atari” back in the day. It has been 26 years since the last Atari console. After the Atari Jaguar back in 1993, Atari started working in the development of video games.

However, after Atari’s 2010 Alone in the Dark video game in collaboration with EA, Atari didn’t make much profit. In 2013, Atari signed up for bankruptcy protection. Fred Chesnais, the current CEO of Atari, bought Atari and now he’s going to revive the company.

A few weeks ago, a YouTube channel named “Ataribox” uploaded a teaser video of what looks like a gaming console. We don’t know if the channel was official or not but Fred Chesnais has confirmed that the rumors true. Take a look at the teaser video yourself:

Fred Chesnais, in an interview with GamesBeat, confirmed that they are working on a brand new console. However, he didn’t reveal much about the console. According to Chesnais, the upcoming Atari console is based on PC technology.

“We’re back in the hardware business,”
– Said Fred Chesnais.

Chesnais said that the new Atari console is still in the making and they will reveal it at a later date. For more, keep it set on GeeksULTD.
