Every year, Samsung launches a rugged version of its flagship smartphone. Since 2013, Samsung has launched a durable and robust variant of its “Galaxy S series” flagship smartphone. Just like last year’s Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, it looks like Samsung is prepping to release the Galaxy S8 Active.
Just like all other Samsung Galaxy “Active” smartphones, the Galaxy S8 Active will be an AT&T exclusive. Taking a look at the official application list of the Galaxy S8 Active by Samsung, the phone will have a few AT&T exclusive applications. According to official SamsungKnox website, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active has model number “G892A”, and it runs Android Nougat.
Taking a look at the picture of the S8 Active, which was revealed last month, the Active variant of the S8 doesn’t have curved glass, due to obvious durability reasons. Just like all other Active S series smartphones, the S8 Active will be dust and water resistance and it will be drop-proof from a height of around 5 feet.
As for the specifications, the phone will probably have a 5.8-inch display, just like the normal Galaxy S8. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset along with Adreno 540 GPU and 4 Gigabytes of RAM. It will also have a high-capacity battery, probably over 3500mAh.
