With racing titles, its impossible to miss out on Toyota. With the release of Need For Speed Payback, none of Toyota’s set of cars would be making it in the game. We’ve seen similar issues before with some manufacturers backing themselves off in video games. However, with no Supras, oh well, we’ll look elsewhere then. Regarding Toyota’s presence in NFS:Payback, a representative from Ghost Games decided to reply and clear out some ramblings that have been going on in the thread. He said:
We know the subject of Toyota is on a lot of minds over the last few weeks. As many of you here suspect, there will be no Toyota cars in Need for Speed Payback. While we’re as disappointed as you are, we do hope that we’ll once again see Toyota back in Need for Speed in the future.
When asked about what they’ll do to cover-up the absence of Toyota cars in the game, the rep said:
We’ve replaced them with other cars, we haven’t just left a hole.
Now what they’ve filled those holes in with is a mystery that we could be able to see after the game is available later this year. However, let’s not forget the fact that EA is making sure that this Need For Speed title is the title that we were eagerly waiting for especially with the messy launch of Need For Speed 2015 where the game had several strict mechanics/rules that made many gamers backout of the game. With Payback making its way to the shelves and gaming systems as we drift into the future, there’s a huge amount of support and hype that gamers are putting into the next Need For Speed title.
Need For Speed Payback is set to release on the 10th of November 2017 on the Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 family of consoles. Indeed an exciting year ahead for the racing genre with all of the competition around.
