Huawei has been making some excellent strides in AI. While the company has definitely built a strong presence throughout the world, the company hasn’t neglected its budget lineup of smartphones. As we enter 2018, it seems like Huawei is working on a new device that would be wallet-friendly.
Dubbed as the Honor 9 Youth, the company seems to be working on budget version of the Honor 9. According to what has surfaced of the device on the internet, the device seems to be packing mid-range internals such as Huawei’s Kirin 659, 4GB RAM, upto 64GB of internal storage, a 13+2MP dual camera setup on the front and rear of the device powered by a 3000mAh battery. Additional details we could pick of the device is that the device weighs about 149g and would run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
Regarding pricing, the leak suggests that the price of the device starts from 1999 Chinese Yuan for the 4/32GB variant. While the 4/64GB variant should retail for 2399 Chinese Yuan. While the price is indeed cheesy, it does seem to clash with Xiaomi’s offerings here in Asia. However, considering how well Huawei markets their devices, it should be able to lure in some users.
