Xiaomi needs no introduction in the Asian smartphone market. With phones like the Mi A1, Mi6 and Mi MiX2 making themselves as staples within the smartphone community throughout Asia, Xiaomi has a strong presence in the Asian market thanks to its excellent budget-oriented smartphones.
With the release of the Mi A1 in Asia, we finally caught our first glimpse at Google’s partnership with Xiaomi. Not only was the A1 an amazing smartphone for its price, but the zest that Google added on top of it with its pure stock Android experience simply elevated the Mi A1 to the next level.
With fans awaiting for a successor to the original Xiaomi Mi A1, spec sheets have been making their way onto the internet recently. These spec sheets don’t only include details about the internals, but also reveal what seems to be the dimensions and weight of the phone.
Here’s the internals.
Xiaomi Mi A2 / Mi 6X (Rumored) Specifications
- Snapdragon 626 @ 2.2GHz
- 5.99-inch 2160 x 1080 18:9 IPS Display
- 4GB RAM
- 64 GB Internal Storage
- 20MP + 8MP rear dual camera setup
- 20MP selfie camera
- 2910 mAh battery
- Android 8.1 Oreo (out of the box)
- 7.3mm thick / 165g
Not only are these internals decent, but they also show how much Xiaomi cares about these new 18:9 displays. Since the Mi A1 is basically an Android One variant of the Mi 5X, the Mi A2 should be the Android One variant of the Mi 6X.
Since Xiaomi has a strong record of pricing smartphones pretty well, the Xiaomi Mi A2 would be priced decently as well, most probably around the same price segment of the current-gen Mi A1. Anyways, can’t wait to see what Xiaomi has in store for 2018, especially with fans awaiting Xiaomi’s reveal of the Mi7. There’s definitely an amazing year ahead for Xiaomi, and its excellent community of fans.
