Xiaomi isn’t new in Asia. The company has been showcasing their tech for quite a while now and has being a force accelerating the growth of budget smartphones over the past couple of years.

Xiaomi’s relentless success in India and in several regions in Asia has led the company to gain a ton of supporters. Over the years, Xiaomi’s diverse range of devices have allowed users to own excellent devices for mid-range prices. From low-end devices to high-end devices that even compete with the likes of Samsung and Google, Xiaomi’s everywhere in Asia busy competing with the big boys. One could absolutely credit the likes of OnePlus, as well as Huawei for pushing the market forward as well. However, the business model Xiaomi has propelled by taking advantage of the internet to sell their phones at cheap prices can’t be overlooked.

According to Canalys, a well-trusted research firm reported some interesting results about the trends in the Indian smartphone market and it seems like the results are in Xiaomi’s favor. According to the report, Xiaomi now takes over 30% of the smartphone market share and leads the likes of Samsung, Vivo and Oppo with 30%, 11% and 10% respectively. That’s a 106% jump in terms of units shipped through Q2 2017 to Q2 2018. The research firm believes that Xiaomi would stay on top for a while despite Samsung’s efforts in the region.

Xiaomi definitely has a strong presence in Asia, and unless Samsung removes its border in terms of specs, which it is unlikely, Xiaomi would contiue to dominate the space for more than a while given that Xiaomi has something to offer to everyone.

The most notable devices Xiaomi has for this year has to be their Mi 8 series of devices as well as their Mi Max 3 that just released a while ago in China.
