The Pocophone F1 Survives A Brutal Durability Test – That Plastic Body Is Built To Last

The Pocophone F1 definitely turned a ton of heads when the device’s official MSRP was revealed late last month. The company had brought a major dealbreaker to the smartphone market. For $299, Xiaomi’s new sub-brand, Poco, is offering a Snapdragon 845 SoC, up to 8GB RAM, up to 256GB of internal storage and a large 4000mAh battery.

However, despite it’s killer internals, Xiaomi is smart enough not to cannibalize the sales of the Xiaomi Mi 8 and their Mi A2 yet. Despite all the flagship hype that’s surrounding the Pocophone F1, you do not want to buy the Pocophone F1 for it’s camera or it’s looks, in fact, we have rant for that coming up regarding the design of the device in a few days. Since that’s due for a later date, there’s some impressive news for the folks who have been following the Pocophone F1 lately.

In a test conducted by the infamous JerryRigEverything YouTube channel, Zack, performed the usual durability tests he does on the Pocophone F1. The Pocophone F1 was put though a bend test, display burn test as well as a scratch test.

Impressively enough, through all of the tests the Pocophone F1 was put through, the phone survived in excellent condition.

Now, the Pocophone F1’s design has to be applauded. While it’s nothing out of the blue, it seems like there isn’t much to mind about regarding it’s poly-carbonate thick body. Not only would you have a single glass less to shatter, but you would also have room to pack a decently large battery. In the case of the Pocophone F1, we’re looking at a 4000mAh battery, just in line with the Galaxy Note 9.
