You know, everytime a new comer comes by, one of the biggest concerns over their flagship launches is the fact is how much they’ve skimped over the camera quality on their device. I mean, packing killer specs and putting components together is anyone’s job. But what if a killer video camera company announces an Android device? Well, that’s what we’ve been hearing from RED the whole time. Given that RED is a camera company rather than a smartphone company, there’s a ton of expectations from RED’s first smartphone.
Earlier this week, YouTuber, MKBHD, got his first chance to unbox the Hydrogen One. He revealed that since its initial reveal last year, the folks over at RED haven’t given the device a fresh round a specs. The Hydrogen One packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, 6GB RAM and a 12MP f/1.8 rear shooter.
Given that RED has become a leader in the videography world with its killer production level cameras, it seems like RED’s first device, the Hydrogen One hasn’t disappointed anyone. MKBHD took it to Twitter a few hours ago revealing some of the sample shots taken by the rear shooter on the RED Hydrogen One, and they’re more than impressive. Have a look.
If we were to give a verdict on these camera shots, we’d say that they’re darn impressive. There’s virtually no noise in the shots above. The shots taken from the camera are simply taking smartphone photography to a whole new level, no doubt.
However given that the device performs this well indoors, I would be amazed to see how well it performs in low-light situations. Given how well it has performed in the shots above, I am personally confident that the low-light performance should outshine most flagships.
