Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Black Market Customizations Are Back – Tons of New Free Content

Activision has finally re-introduced the Black Market to Call Of Duty Black Ops 4. Starting today, the developers have announced that The Black Market is making its first debut on the PlayStation 4 first. Seven days after it arrives on the PlayStation 4, Activision has announced that players on PC and Xbox One would get The Black Market mode as per their Sony-Activision exclusivity deal announced a while ago.

The Black Market brings new customization options to the game, including stuff like weapon skins, gestures, signatures, etc.

This time, The Black Market features “The Contraband” stream, which is like a progression system through which players can achieve skins and other content simply by playing the game. With this new update, Activision is taking the Rainbow Six: Seige route with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Just like Rainbow Six Siege, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will also now get new content through “Operations”, which will come seasonally. With the new “Operation First Strike”, the first season of all new content for CoD: Black Ops 4 has started. According to Activision, new Operations will come out every couple of months with whole new content. Here’s what the new operations bring to the table:

  • New Blackout Characters: New playable characters will come with every new Operation.
  • Specialists Outfits: New outfits for the characters, built around the Operation theme.
  • Signature Weapons: These are special weapon skins, which will come with every new Operation.
  • Tags/Gestures: New player animations to replace the good ol’ tea-bagging.

Here’s how Activision describes The Black Market in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4:

The Black Market serves as the one-stop shop for awesome gear and new ways to express yourself in Black Ops 4 and brings big changes to give players more options to earn and enjoy new content. It starts with players having more choice than ever.

All of the new content is available in both Blackout and Multiplayer modes. Along with all this, Activision has also announced limited seasonal events, within the Operations. These events will come with their own special-themed customizations, which suit the occasion. The first event is going to be the Halloween event within the Operation First Strike, starting on October 20th for PS4 and October 27th for other platforms. The events will have their own progression stream. The players will be able to get more items for free by just playing the game. However, the events will be up for a limited time only. Wait, there’s more! Along with The Black Market, Activision will also implement The Blackjack’s shop in November. Players will be able to purchase items directly from The Blackjack’s shop.

It is great to see Activision putting the effort in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. By implementing the update-cycle models of other successful games like Rainbow Six: Siege and Rocket League, the new upcoming Operation is definitely going keep the gamers hooked on the game. The seven day PS4 exclusivity might be a turn-off for non-PS4 gamers, but we do hope that the wait is worth it.
