Fortnite’s Iconic Battle Bus To Travel 25% Faster – To Trim 10 Seconds Off Your Flying Time

Epic Games has just announced some incredible news for the Fortnite fanatics out there. If you ever wondered about how slow the Battle Bus in Fortnite is, worry not, cause the Battle Bus is about to get upgraded. According to Fortnite’s Twitter handle, they’re planning to buff up the engine on the Battle Bus engine. While fictional, Epic has announced that they’re testing “an engine upgrade” for the Battle Bus. With the buff in effect, Epic plans to boost the speed of the travel time on the Battle Bus by 25%. While Epic has been vague regarding the decision, it seems like a series of Reddit posts may have triggered the decision. In a tweet, they said…

The Battle Bus is test driving an engine upgrade and now travels 25% faster while flying. Remember, always buckle up and thank your driver!

Epic has been pretty active on developing the map of the game but hasn’t touched on the Battle Bus much except for when Epic decorated it on Fortnite’s first birthday. With the Battle Bus remaining largely untouched over the past year, we’ve determined that the Battle Bus typically took about 40 seconds from point A to B.

An additional Reddit post also went into the inner quirks of the Battle Bus, after playing around with some simple maths, the user had determined that the Battle Bus travels at approximately 400mph or 643km/h. If we buff those numbers up by 25%, we’re looking at the Battle Bus reaching speeds of up to 500mph or 800km/h. With the buff in effect, we’re expecting the Battle Bus to shed 10 seconds off of its total air time before you get kicked off.

While Fortnite’s physics are clearly fictional, they certainly would be appreciated by the folks in the Fortnite community who want to start grinding in the action as soon as possible.

Epic hasn’t announced when the Battle Bus is expected to receive the buff. However, our instincts suggest that the buff my come with the next major Fortnite update. At least with the buff in full effect, you may consider thanking the bus driver.
