Huawei Finally Announces Their New Mate 20, Porsche Mate 20 RS, & Mate 20 Pro

After a long wait, Huawei has finally unveiled the Huawei Mate 20 and the Mate 20 Pro. The Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are Huawei’s new top dogs before the Huawei P30 arrives next year.

The new Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro have a ton to offer with their goody bags. The Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are just as alike as they are apart. The Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro offer a triple camera setup at their rear. In addition to that, both devices now support wireless charging and are water/dust resistant with the Mate 20 Pro offering an IP68 certification. The Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro pack a notch at the front of the device. The main difference between the two devices lies between their sizes, notches, and their feature set with the Mate 20 Pro offering the fuller package of the two.

The Huawei Mate 20 sports a 6.53′-inch display with a resolution of 2244 x 1080 along with 820 nits of brightness. While on the other hand, the Mate 20 Pro offers a 3120 x 1440 OLED panel featuring a 19.5:9 ratio. As speculated by the renders and leaks, the Huawei Mate 20 features a waterdrop notch while the Huawei Mate 20 Pro features a full-featured notch up front. As their notch sizes suggest, the Huawei Mate 20 offers a waterdrop notch along with a rear-aligned fingerprint sensor. On the other hand, the Mate 20 Pro offers a fully decked out notch featuring a complex array of sensors for face biometric authentication, The notch on the Mate 20 Pro pack a flood illuminator, a front selfie camera as well as a IR camera to allow face biometric authentication to work seamlessly regardless of the lighting conditions.

Speaking of biometric authentication, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is the only device among the two to feature an under-display fingerprint sensor. In addition to that, Huawei has made a number of other enterprise-grade security tweaks to keep your device safe.

The Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro come in a number of colors, variants and storage options. The base model of the Huawei Mate 20 features 6 Gigabytes of RAM and 64 Gigabytes of internal storage and starts at €799. If you’re looking to go pro, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s base model would set you back €1099 for the base model that features 6 Gigabytes of RAM and 128 Gigabytes of storage. If you’re a power-hungry user, the storage on the Mate 20 could be bumped up to 128GB while 6 Gigabytes of RAM remains the standard. However, if you’re willing to beef up the Mate 20 Pro, you could bump up the RAM to 8 Gigabytes and bump up the internal storage up to 256 Gigabytes of internal storage. The five color options coming to the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro come with are Emerald Green, Midnight Blue, Black, Pink Gold, and Twilight. If you do opt for the Huawei Mate 20 RS designed in collaboration with Porsche, you would be able to pick the device up with 8GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
