Following the surfacing of the XZ3 at IFA, renders of Sony’s budget device, the XA3 has just surfaced in a series of renders. The smartphone’s exterior renders show a device very much true to the classic Sony look but with a dash of 2018 design cues.
Based on the renders courtesy of the folks over at MySmartPrice, the XA3 is said to come in two colors at launch, at least that’s what the renders suggest. Being a Sony device, we’re happy to see the headphone jack retaining its importance as well as much streamlined glass-back design for those who care for them the most. Alongside that, the stealthy, yet gorgeous looking design forces the flash to be kicked off of the dual-camera bump to keep the design appealing.
If we dig further into nitpicking the device, it seems like Sony may have altered with the aspect ratio this time around, possibly picking on the 18:9 trend. If so, we’d expect the device to feature a typical resolution of 2160 x 1080 along with a mid-range spec sheet to go along with it.
The XA series of devices from Sony have traditionally been aimed at penetrating the mid-range market. We’d speculate that the Sony Xperia XA3 would feature the new 636 SoC as an upgrade over the Snapdragon 630 found in the XA2. Regarding the rest of the spec sheet, we’d be safe to speculate that you should be looking at upto 4GB of RAM and upto 64GB of internal storage with the XA3 when it launches in early 2019.
With the smartphone market cornered by the likes of Samsung, Apple & Huawei. Sony struggles to take place in the mainstream market. Sony may not be desperate enough to make a name for themselves in this department but the XA3 seems to be the next bait in the fishing pond.
For now, all we can do is wait and expect Sony to play their cards to perfection. Do note that these renders are merely leaks and the final product may or may not resemble the pictures posted above.
