Huawei has been very active this year. First, they overtook Apple in global smartphone markets and then dropped the Mate 20 with very promising features. Huawei’s P Smart 2019 seems to be the latest addition to the franchise thanks to leaks reported by Roland Quandt. The P Smart offers mid-range specifications while keeping the retail low and following the same footprint as Huawei’s latest flagships. The P Smart keeps the signature Huawei gradient colour with a teardrop notch up front. As far as the geometry and the physical features of the device are concerned there isn’t a lot to talk about. The phone hosts two rear-facing shooters while one thing of notice here is that the phone has a micro USB port instead of USB-C.
The phone seems to resemble a lot to the Honor 10 Lite which is a sub-brand of Huawei and we expect the Huawei labelled variant to have similar specifications. The complete specifications of the phone are not exactly confirmed but it is expected that the device will rock a Kirin 710 SoC paired with 3 to 4 GB of RAM. The P Smart will run Android Pie base EMUI 9.0 straight out of the box. The expected specifications of the device are listed under.
|Huawei P Smart 2019||Specifications|
|Display||2340 x 1080 pixels LCD|
|CPU||Kirin 710 Octacore SoC|
|Camera||24-megapixel front facing
13-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor
The Huawei P Smart 2019 will come in two colours named “Midnight Black” and “Aurora Blue”. It is certain that the rebranded device will make its way into the European markets and will most certainly target the budget audience. Recently Xiaomi also announced the release of their fleet of devices in the UK. With Huawei interfering the European space, competition is most likely to heat up among Chinese manufacturers. Given the specifications of the phone, it is expected to cost around the $250 mark but it’ll be interesting how Huawei approaches this.
The device is expected to be announced officially in a few weeks time. Do note that the actual specifications may differ from the above-stated ones.
