Fortnite has been a sensation lately and with developers adding more and more content to the game, the numbers are to increase. The decision of adding cross play with every major platform there is has proved to be quite fruitful for Epic Games. The latest reports by Sensor Tower are in and they reveal a significant improvement in iOS revenues. It is reported that players spend over $1.23 million in-game per day. Adding over approximately $37 million to the game’s life-to-date gross of more than $385 million.
The release of the new Season has also resulted in an increment of the player base. With the holiday season going on it is predicted that the revenue is going to skyrocket very soon while the new content updates act as a catalyst. The release of Season six in late September caused an estimated $17.6 million in its first week on the Apple store. This resulted in a 41% increase over the previous week. Fortnite is still the No. 1 grossing iOS game in the U.S and we expect it to stay there for a while longer. The game managed to top the charts for over 8 consecutive months accounting over 64% of the game’s revenue.
It is clear that Epic Games wants to keep the hype alive and with constant updates and tweaks they are bound to succeed. Recently they opened the Epic Games Store for third-party developers which are also a step in the right direction. And with them adding 60fps functionality to the newer fleet of iOS devices including the iPad definitely adds to the experience.
