One of the most awaited updates for CS: GO by Valve is here. It has been over a year since the last operation was released for the game and Valve has finally listened to the requests. This time, however, they didn’t release a new operation but instead a new game mode. Yes, CS: GO now officially has a Battle Royale mode and it is everything that you’d expect.
The Danger Zone update for brings a fresh breath of air into the once-neglected e-sports title. The Danger Zone offers Counter Strike’s version of Battle Royale by adding CS exclusive features to spice things up. With the fast-paced Battle Royale mode, players will be able to match up in a server of 18 players fighting to complete their mission which will be updated on a virtual tablet which is given to everyone. As far as loot is concerned, players will be able to collect cash, equipment, weaponry and all sorts of goodies on the battlefield.
Valve has decided to spruce things up by bringing a mission round approach to Battle Royale and by bringing the classic economy system to the platform. Overall the battleground is filled with minute details waiting to be explored and with a variety of new features, we expect the player base to skyrocket. Along with the Danger Zone update comes a brand new Danger Zone Case with 17 new weapon finishes just waiting to be tried on. Additionally, CS: GO is now free to play completely along with matchmaking enabled and all features with a limited set of dropped items. Now for the first time ever, players can acquire the Prime Account status by attaining private rank 21 or by purchasing it from the steam store.
This update will not affect existing CS: GO players and those who have been with the game will now receive a brand new Loyalty Badge. Additionally, as a Prime Status member, you are eligible for the new Prime-exclusive Danger Zone Souvenir MP5-SD | Lab Rats, available until January 9th, 2019. Users who bought the game prior to the update and have not upgraded to the prime status have already been upgraded to prime even without a phone number. This update is definitely a huge step by Valve and will determine how the move on from here. The adoption of the Battle Royale mode may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it certainly is exciting to see Valve at least try.
