Apple is about to announce iPhone SE 3 (2022) which is expected to be a powerful 5G Phone but retains the classic design at a never-before-seen price tag. It could be the cheapest 5G iPhone till now.
The iPhone SE series consists of some of the most economical iPhones ever. First launched in 2016, iPhone SE proved to be a great success with its compact design and seamless experience.
Later, Apple released its 2nd edition in 2020 which fans welcomed wholeheartedly. Now, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of the iPhone SE 3. It was earlier rumored to be launched in 2021.

iPhone SE 3(2022) Release Date- Is it coming in 2021?
Earlier, iPhone SE 3 was heavily rumored to be released in late 2021. However, when Apple only announced the new MacBooks and 3rd Gen AirPods in their last event of 2021, it became clear that the iPhone SE 3 is NOT coming in 2021.
Digitimes reports that Apple may release iPhone 3 sometime in the first half of 2022. It could hold a Sprint event next year just like they did in 2021 to launch a new color option for the iPhone 12.
So, it is safe to say that iPhone SE 3 is definitely coming in 2022, having a compact design with a powerful processor and excellent upgrades.
iPhone SE 3 (2022) Leaked & Expected Features
The successor in the iPhone SE series is expected to feature the powerful Apple A15 Bionic chip with 5G connectivity. The design and dimensions are likely to remain the same with rumors of an additional model having a larger screen launching in 2023.
Just like the iPhone 13 Series, the iPhone SE 3 will also include the Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 5G modem chip, apart from the A15 Bionic chip. The production might hopefully start sometime in December 2021 or January 2022.
The next iPhone SE will likely feature a hole-punch display, along with thin bezels and a flat frame. According to sources, it is going to retain the 4.7 Inch LCD display and will not have an upgrade to OLEDs, unlike the iPhone 13 series.
There also have been mixed reports of the iPhone SE 3 having either face-scanning technology or having a Home button with Touch ID. However, with the expected size of the screen, the latter seems unlikely.
Also, the iPhone SE 3 (2022) will be built on the chassis of the iPhone XR, according to Bloomberg. It is expected to have a single camera at the back but with an upgrade to its predecessor.

Apple devices are widely popular for their expensive price tags. However, Apple is expected to counter the stigma with their next iPhone SE. A report from UDN in Taiwan states that the iPhone SE 3 will be the cheapest 5G iPhone in history.
As of now, the cheapest 5G iPhone is the iPhone 12 mini, which costs $699. And, the current iPhone SE comes for $399. Calculating from this, the iPhone SE 3 (2022) could have a price tag of somewhere between $450 to $549.
The price is considering the upgrades Apple is bringing into the iPhone SE series. So, they may also raise the price but it won’t compete with the latest series. However, with the Apple A15 chip, iPhone SE will become the best performing smartphone in its price range.
Will iPhone SE 3 have an additional model?
Till now, Apple has been releasing the SE series as a single model. However, the iPhone SE 3 is rumored to have an additional model that will feature a large 6.1 Inch display. It will also be a hole-punch display, and not the currently seen one with a notch.
This additional model of iPhone SE will likely retain the same features as that of iPhone SE 3 having an A15 Bionic chip and 5G connectivity but with a larger screen. It will also have a slightly higher price tag.
