Netflix has a myriad of anime gems under its belt but Erased is one of its firm favorites. Despite only having 12 episodes, this fascinating time-travel premise keeps fans wanting more and more. Do you think there’s more to this? let’s find out.
The sci-fi series features 29-year-old Satoru Fujinuma, who can utilize his power to “revive” to rescue people’s lives when they are in danger. When his mother is found dead, he is sent back in time 18 years to when he was attending elementary school, a distance he has never traveled before. Now his mother’s fate has been intertwined with the kidnapping and deaths of his three friends. There have been several versions of “Erased,” including a live-action film, an anime series, and a Netflix live-action series, all based on the Japanese manga series “The Town Where Only I Am Missing” or “Boku Dake ga Inai Machi.”
Here’s everything we know about Erased Season 2.
Erased Season 2 Release Date
There currently has been no news suggesting that Erased Season 2 is in development. It’s been over five years since Erased season 1 ended but its transfer to the streaming platform has drawn in new viewers. Netflix and the animation studio A-1 Pictures may launch a second season of the show if enough people demonstrate their support for it. Netflix, on the other hand, has recently developed a keen interest in anime and has produced a number of its own.
However, even if “Erased” is renewed shortly, it could be several years before viewers get to see it. Kei Sanbe’s original “Erased” manga was released in June 2012 and ended in April 2016, respectively. There were no spoilers for either the animated or live-action films when they were released in March of this year. According to Crunchyroll, the 2017 Netflix live-action miniseries is the only adaptation to follow the manga’s finale precisely. Despite this, the anime continues to be popular.
The cast of Erased Season 2?
Still Erased Season 2 fate is still unknown, we don’t have much information about the potential cast. When it comes to which characters will be featured in the storyline, it all depends on what the plot is.
Ben Diskin narrates Satoru at the age of 29, while Michelle Ruff portrays him as a 10-year-old in the English dub. Both are well-known anime and Western animation English dub voice actors. Sai from “Boruto” and “Naruto: Shippûden” or Joseph Joestar from ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’ are likely to be familiar faces. In the meantime, Ruff has voiced a variety of characters, including Kaori in the sci-fi anime classic “Akira” and Fujiko Mine in “Lupin the Third.” In theory, either of them may return, but it would depend on the storyline of the anime.
The Plot of Erased Season 2
Despite its deviation from the manga, the first installment was still able to solve the murder case and tie up loose ends. So, what about season 2? Well, developers can think of a new adventure revolving around Satoru’s ability to travel back in time.
However, the manga has a spin-off novel that detailed the killer’s reasons following the events of “Erased.” Season 2 of “Erased” may include these materials, however, the structure of the series is likely to be dissimilar from Season 1.
