Apple is going to showcase its first product launching event this year on March 08,20 22. The main focus of this event is to launch 5G iPhone sets, though they are also upgrading their Apple Watch Series 8 line, New iPhone 14, and a new Ipad. But most attention will be on the Mac book upgrade.
This time more focus on Macbook because Apple is entering part three of its computer haul. They are replacing Intel Crop, with Apple Silicon. This transition started in 2020 with the M1 version of the Macbook Pro, Mac Mini, and Macbook Air. It continued in 2021 with the M1 iMac and later this year with the M1 Pro and M1 Max and Macbook Pros.
This year Apple transition will be in full swing because Apple Silicon will shift into higher gear with several new Mac Models with new processors such as:
1. A new M2 chip.
2. Last year’s M1 Pro and Max Chips.
3. Super-powered version of M1 Max.
According to Bloomberg, the third round of Mac updates will be announced on March 08, when Apple will hold its first media event of 2022. There will be one Macbook at least for launch. The roomers are that Apple has listed three new Mac models and one of them is labeled as a laptop.
If you want to find out what Mac product Apple will launch in March, let’s first break down the number of products Apple will launch this year: A new Mac Mini with an M1 Pro chip.
- A 13-inch Macbook Pro with an M2 chip( to make a successful 2020 model and sit below 14-inch and 16-inch Macbook Pro).
- A Mac Mini with an M2 chip.
- A 24-inch iMac with an M2 chip.
- A redesigned Macbook Air with an M2 chip.
- A large iMac Pro with M1 pro and M1 Max chip option.
- A half-sized Mac Pro.
Apple’s M1 pro and M1 Max chips are already available in the market so Apple’s new iMac launch in March is not a big deal. However, according to Bloomberg, Apple will launch another round of Macbooks in May and June. Apple wants to create developer support for the new two chips so that’s why they are going to launch new Macbooks early in June. Because, if they launch in June then definitely they will be available to ship in Fall. That’s a holiday season so no wonder why Apple choose that time. People will obviously be interested to buy new gadgets and Apple will be able to grab the market pretty well.
In 2021, Macbook revenue was $35 billion so it’s ok to say that Apple silicon has turned around successfully.
On March 04, Apple has its yearly shareholder meeting, so stay tuned to see the live coverage of the meeting. After the meeting, the company is planning to launch a 5G iPhone with SE, a fast processor, a new iPad, and a new Macbook. The announcement may happen on March 08, 2022, though Apple has not confirmed yet.
