Amber Heard thanked her fans in a letter about her continuing court struggle with her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.
“I’m going to be out of commission for another few weeks.” “As you know, I’ll be in Virginia, where I’ll be in court with my ex-husband, ” Heard said on Twitter. I never named him; instead, I wrote about the costs women pay when confronted by men in positions of authority. I’m still paying the price, but maybe when this case is through, I’ll be able to go on, and Johnny will as well.”

“I have always loved Johnny, and it pains me to have to relive the events of our past life together in public,” says the statement. “Right now, I’m grateful for the unwavering support I’ve had throughout the years, and I’ll need it more than ever in the coming days and weeks.”
Depp is suing Heard for defamation in the amount of $50 million. The actress’ request to have the claim dismissed after Depp lost his libel case in the UK was refused. The trial is expected to begin on Monday in Fairfax County, Virginia. Depp has filed a lawsuit against Heard after the actress stated in a Washington Post op-ed in 2018 that she is a survivor of domestic violence. Although Heard did not identify Depp, she accused him of domestic abuse after filed for divorce in 2016.
Depp lost a UK libel action against the publisher of The Sun, a UK tabloid that accused him of being a “wife abuser” in a 2018 piece, in November 2020. According to the court, the words were “essentially true.”
Heard asked that Depp’s defamation action against her in the United States be dropped once the UK verdict was finalised, because both lawsuits contain claims of Depp being an abuser. The Virginia court, on the other hand, held that the two instances and statements were “inherently distinct.”
Since then, Depp has claimed that Hollywood is “boycotting” him, citing the long-delayed release of his biography “Minamata.” Depp also left the Warner Bros. property “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” in which he played the primary antagonist Gellert Grindelwald throughout two films. Mads Mikkelsen has subsequently been cast in the role.
