The nefarious organization has now been revealed to have spent decades hidden within SHIELD, although HYDRA has remained mostly silent since then, with its most notable appearances occurring in the Agents of SHIELD TV series, which is still debatable in terms of canon.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, often known as Doctor Strange 2, has had a phenomenal box office run. The film has grossed over $870 million worldwide, putting it among the top pandemic-era blockbusters. In Marvel continuity, the film also broke open the multiverse. Despite the fact that Loki dealt with the subject, Doctor Strange expanded on it significantly, especially when he and America Chavez visited 20 separate universes in 40 seconds. The plot was confined to only a few universes for the most part, including the legendary Earth-838 planet, which housed the film’s Illuminati. Doctor Strange and America Chavez, on the other hand, flew through worlds to escape the Scarlet Witch’s fury, giving viewers a glimpse of a paint-made reality, the Savage Land, and even a realm dominated by HYDRA.

A blimp bearing the Hydra emblem can be seen flying by in a frame from the Multiverse’s black-and-white world, according to the story.
Doctor Strange and America Chavez go rocketing into a parallel universe, which shows a blimp with a Hydra insignia painted on it, and Screenrant focuses on that image. Michael Perdew, Luma’s senior VFX producer, went on to talk about how his team worked on the Gargantos fight from the beginning of the movie. Perdew admitted that he had been “begging” to use the squid-like extraterrestrial for a long time, and that his design was a “allusion” to Shuma-Gorath:
“I’ve been pleading for this character for years, probably since 2014.” In addition, the character in the comics has two names: Gargantos is a variation of Shuma-Gorath. So, if you look at the design, you’ll see that it’s more of a reference to that character.”
Doctor Strange and America Chavez soon find themselves in an universe where the man is facing a trial before The Illuminati, a multiverse council that has featured some of the MCU’s most notable cameos. To be honest, seeing an alternate version of Red Skull that wasn’t a supervillain would have been insane. That wasn’t the case, although he could very well have survived in the Hydra World the two had visited. Doctor Strange 2 is undoubtedly one of Marvel’s most ambitious flicks. That is, other from Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The Captain America trilogy and the Agents of SHIELD TV series were heavily influenced by HYDRA. The group has been largely missing from the MCU since both ended. After its assimilation into SHIELD was revealed in The Winter Soldier, the Nazi-affiliated scientific group looks to have reached its apex.
As the MCU moves on to bigger dangers, it’s hard to see HYDRA making a reappearance anytime soon, unless it plays a role in Captain America 4 or something. Nonetheless, the organization is one of the most important in the Marvel universe, so it’s great to see it mentioned again.
Within this realm, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness appears to be emphasizing a reality in which HYDRA rules the globe, probably as a result of the Nazis defeating the Allies at the close of World War ll.
Because this well-placed Easter egg was only discovered recently, there could be plenty more interesting references hidden inside Multiverse of Madness, a film with more potential to hide secrets than any other in the MCU’s history. Doctor Strange 2 is still playing in theaters, and fans are flocking to see if they can detect anything other than Hydra World popping out of the fast-paced sequence of realms. Kevin Feig addressed the possibility of the jungle being Savage World with the VFX artists. In any case, those little moments contributed to an exciting and undeniably successful film. Maybe we’ll get to witness the Hydra version of Captain America next time. In the comics, that did happen.
