Dollface Season 3: Return Confirmed? Kat Dennings Confirms Secrets, Truth REVEALED

Dollface is an American humorous streaming television series developed by Jordan Weiss that debuted on Hulu on November 15, 2019. Dollface has ten episodes in each season, each lasting approximately 22–32 minutes. When a franchise has two seasons and the potential for more, the topic of whether it will be renewed or canceled in the middle of the story is frequently discussed and speculated about among fans.

Female friendships on television can be difficult to observe. I’m sure we all grew up watching Friends, where Phoebe, Rachel, and Monica exemplified the kind of friendship that many of us yearn for.

So, if you’re looking forward to the next chapter of Dollface, we’ve got some bad news for you. Unfortunately, the opportunity to binge-watch Dollface Season 3 was short-lived, since the show was officially discontinued. Here’s all we know about Season 3 of Dollface.

In May of 2022, the show was cancelled. Hulu has yet to provide an explanation for why the show will not be renewed. Almost every gen-z and millennial grew up watching Disney’s Brenda Song or 2 Broke Girls’ Kat Dennings. The relationship between Jules (Kat Dennings) and Madison (Brenda Song) has definitely struck a chord with us.

Hulu’s “Dollface,” starring Kat Dennings, a breakout star from another strong female friendship drama, “2 Broke Girls,” is one such show.

The show does not follow the usual female friendship path; rather, it emphasizes the importance of friendship and the need of remaining together.

Will Dollface have a third season?

Despite having two seasons in the franchise and a decent audience and reaction on the site, Hulu has officially canceled Dollface Season 3. Even though the series earned mixed reviews from critics, it managed to capture the attention of viewers who had binge-watched the previous seasons and were hoping for a third season.

That is correct. The “Dollface” franchise, created by Jordan Weiss, is coming to a close with the announcement that there would be no further seasons.

The Hulu streaming platform has decided not to renew the show. The cancellation news came three months after the season finale, which is as awful as it sounds.

The second season finished on a possible cliffhanger that will not be addressed owing to the abrupt cancellation, and people who invested so much time in watching the series will now be unable to bid farewell to these characters with an appropriate series ending storyline.

What is going to be the third season of Dollface?

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

In the last episode, Birthday Girl, the second season ended with a potential cliffhanger. During the episode, viewers saw Jules inform Celeste that she will be leaving Woöm while waiting for CAMLA to answer. On the other hand, Jules discovers that her new job is no longer available.

Jules tries to contact Celeste at the airport before she departs for the Maldives to plead for her job back, but she realizes she must move on. Izzy requests a second chance from Liam, and the two reunite. Later in the episode, the group attends the successful opening of Stella and Liv’s pub, The Gi Spot.

As the romance between Jules and Fender develops, Madison and Ruby reconcile, and Izzy is named Celeste’s new right-hand lady. Stella informs Liv that she is ready to totally commit to their relationship, but Liv insists on keeping their relationship strictly professional for Bruno’s sake. Jules, along with Stella and Izzy, surprises Madison with a virtual trip to Greece, which Jules constructed in her garage, after their birthday trip to Greece did not go as planned.

This ending reveals that the show’s creators were undoubtedly hoping for another season if the show got picked up by Hulu. Unfortunately, the network has now cut it short due to the abrupt ending, and the fans will not be able to get the conclusion that they truly deserve.

Why was Dollface on Hulu discontinued after Season 2?

With two amazing seasons, the sitcom starring Kat Dennings, Brenda Song, Shay Mitchell, and Esther Povitsky gave viewers a lot of hope.

However, the abrupt cancellation has upset viewers, as the series had been receiving positive reviews from both the public and reviewers.

In the second season, the series received mixed reviews, with an overall rating of 54 percent.

Moreover, Kat Dennings who portrays Jules Wiley, stated in an exclusive interview with Collider in February when asked whether she believed a third season was coming, saying: “I’m superstitious. I always assume one and done, for everything. I don’t think I decorated my dressing room at 2 Broke Girls until season five. I always assumed I just had to have my bag packed. I don’t really think about it. But of course, that would be incredible and there are all sorts of dream scenarios I’d love to see.”

The announcement about cancelation comes three months after Season 2 was released in its entirety in February. Dollface, on the other hand, could have been grappling with major worries about the series’ development and plot for another chapter, leading to its discontinuation. At this time, this point is simply speculation, so we recommend that fans wait for Hulu to confirm the genuine reasons.

What could have been the plot of Dollface Season 3?

At the end of Season 2, Jules announced her resignation to Celeste, who was pleasantly surprised. Jules, on the other hand, is upset when she discovers that her new job is no longer available. She’s desperate to “give up.” Her subconscious, on the other hand, advised her to stay focused on her objectives and continue her research.

Both Jules and Fender are happy in their personal lives. Ruby and Stella are conversing, despite the fact that their relationship is still strained due to their competing business interests. Izzy and Liam, on the other hand, have made peace with one other. Madison’s birth anniversary with her friends and family is in the last seconds of the season.

We would have been able to discover more about Jules’ personal and professional progress if the show was extended for a third season. Because of her fragile employment condition, she is currently in limbo.

Even if Ruby and Stella have decided that they no longer need to be in a relationship, if they continue working together in their firm, things may not go as easily as they had hoped. In addition, it appears that Izzy’s life was taking an unexpected turn. As a result, what happens between her and Madison in the upcoming episodes would have been fascinating to watch in Dollface Season 3. Sadly, that is not the case now.

Season 1 and Season 2 are available on Hulu Plus. The series is also available to rent or buy on Google Play, Vudu, Amazon Instant Video, and iTunes. Moreover, Dollface is on Disney Plus in the UK and Hulu in the US.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the first season holds an approval rating of 59% based on 27 reviews, with an average rating of 5.8/10. The site’s critical consensus reads: “Dollface has all of the right parts: a talented cast, a promising premise, and plenty of surreal intrigue—if only its shallow vision of feminism didn’t undermine them.”

The second season holds an approval rating of 50% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 8 reviews, with an average rating of 4.8/10.

The show’s superficial image of feminism has been criticized by critics. We can only hope that other producers and directors learn from Dollface’s demise and pay attention to the vital details.
