Tom Henderson, an industry insider, claims to have replicated the ‘DMZ’ map from Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, complete with its overall structure and POI locations.
Although a release date for Call of Duty Warzone 2 has yet to be announced, a new source has leaked the battle royale’s whole map, which shows how it will look as well as the locations on the map.
Over the last few weeks, a slew of leaks and rumors about Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 have surfaced, including Warzone 2’s new gameplay, the old Modern Warfare 2 maps appearing as POIs, and the DMZ’s tradeable item marketplace.
Although Warzone 2 is still in production and set to release in 2023, the next iteration of the Call of Duty battle royale map has leaked, along with a number of POIs.
Tom Henderson has reconstructed the full map, complete with POIs after leaker TheMW2Ghost displayed a piece of the terrain that will apparently be shared between Warzone 2 and the Escape from Tarkov-inspired DMZ.
Since its introduction alongside Modern Warfare in 2019, Warzone has been very popular for Call of Duty, with Verdansk proving to be incredibly popular among players of all different playstyles and backgrounds.
Tom Henderson has shared “what the official Warzone 2 map now looks like via a doodle,” rather than showing off an in-game image of what they claim is the DMZ and Warzone 2’s map.
While Caldera hasn’t gotten as much attention, it’s still a popular map, and many players would like to see a return to Verdansk or a completely new map – which is where Warzone 2 comes in.
We can see that the map is scheduled to be on the shore, similar to Verdansk, with coastline POIs that could utilize the swimming mechanic that Henderson previously released in this drawing shared to Try Hard Guides.
“It does seem bigger than that of Verdansk and Caldera, especially considering whether the grid reference is valid,” Henderson noted, despite the fact that the drawing doesn’t show the map’s size.

The new map has been shown, along with confirmation of the suspected swimming mechanic, according to a tip from industry insider Tom Henderson (via Try Hard Guides).
Henderson has also highlighted the area of the map where TheMW2Ghost previously demonstrated. Their map isn’t very detailed, but it does depict what look to be roads or train tracks that run through it. In addition, a major river runs through the map’s center, with a lake on the eastern side.
On TheMW2Ghost’s drawing, there are a few icons that we’re not sure what they symbolize. The locks could point to the Strongholds, which both YouTuber NerosCinema and Henderson claim will allow gamers to access their loadouts, but there’s no way of knowing for sure.

The lower half of the map, as you can see in the image above, will be dominated by water, with the aforementioned swimming mechanic allowing players to flank, with Henderson pointing out that the black line signifies a railway line.
Henderson also mentions that the map will be larger than both Verdansk and Caldera, the two current Warzone maps and that the long-rumored DMZ mode may be played on the same map.
Previous leaks have suggested that this map will be set in Central America, with Medelln, Colombia as its inspiration, but the recreation doesn’t confirm this.
Of course, this is only a leak for now, and there’s no certainty that this will be the map for Warzone 2 and the DMZ. Stay tuned for additional information from Activision and Infinity Ward later this year.
According to previous leaks, several of the game’s POIs and locations will be modeled on iconic Modern Warfare 2 maps from the original 2009 game. Afghan, Terminal, Quarry, and Highrise are a few examples, though this is by no means an entire list.
