In the second singles, Kidambi Srikanth defeated Jonatan Christie 21-15, 23-21 to secure India’s first gold medal in the competition’s history. Lakshya had earlier stunned world number five Anthony Sinisuka Ginting with a come-from-behind victory.
After that, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty proved their abilities and expertise to overcome Mohammad Ahsan and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo in the final. By beating Asian Games gold medalist Jonatan Christie 21-15 23-21, Kidambi Srikanth won India’s first-ever Thomas Cup gold title.

The Indonesian, on the other hand, rallied to take a 16-13 lead, but Srikanth hung in there and refused to give up.
Srikanth then saved a game point at 20-21 before sealing the game and the match for India, giving them a remarkable victory.
