Season 2 of Shining Girls on Apple Tv+: Is It Renewed or Cancelled? Know the Details

We like to start these articles off with some basic information, so here’s what we have thus far: A reminder that nothing is decided about the future here for the time being. Having said that, it appears doubtful that the tale will continue.

For those who are unaware, Shining Girls is based on Lauren Beukes’ source material, and the story appears to have a clear conclusion. While it wouldn’t be revolutionary for the TV programme to go beyond what we see in the book, it’s also difficult to see why there would be such a pressing need for it. Moss is also working on season 5 of The Handmaid’s Tale, and unless it’s the final season, she’ll be busy for a while.

In the end, we don’t believe Apple will invest more in this area, mostly because there isn’t a pressing need for it. This is a streaming service that has already achieved some success abroad, so there’s no reason to press the issue here. Shining Girls is also not a runaway hit on the level of Big Little Lies or True Detective, both of which received more episodes after being touted as a limited series at start. We don’t believe it will be subjected to as much pressure in this country.

Now that we’ve covered everything, it’d be fantastic to see Apple’s creative team come up with something fresh to keep the partnership running for a little longer!

The character of “promising reporter turned amateur sleuth chasing a time-traveling serial killer while she herself becomes unstuck in time” appears to be way too precise for any performer, even one as gifted as Elisabeth Moss. Yet, from the Apple TV+ limited series “Shining Girls,” it is the first takeaway: That the character of Kirby Mazrachi is a wonderful fit for this specific celebrity, whether thanks to Lauren Beukes’ original novel, showrunner Silka Luisa, or actor/director/executive producer Moss.

Perhaps a little too flawless at times. As Kirby fights her way through wonderfully difficult circumstances and the dismissals of so many people around her, it’s difficult not to think of Moss’ outstanding performance in the recent remake of “Invisible Man” — a story of poisonous male violence that benefited from ruthless reduction. The eight-part “Shining Girls” has more time to generate suspense — and more time to trip over its inconsistent pacing.
