It should come as no surprise that the highest models from each manufacturer, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and the iPhone 13 Pro Max, both have an outstanding designs. They are nearly the same size, with the S22 Ultra being a tiny bit taller and 10g lighter than the Pro Max.
Their shapes, however, are very dissimilar. The S22 Ultra features slightly rounded edges, which creates a more striking and beautiful appearance and feel, as opposed to the Pro Max, which opts for curved corners but a flat display. In contrast to the iPhone’s lenses, which form a very obtrusive block on the back, the camera array is also more flush with the design.
The absence of the iPhone feature known as the “notch” on the display, which is controversial among Apple supporters, is the great design triumph for Samsung.
