Rent A Girlfriend :
It is a Japanese manga series written by Reiji Miyajima with a collection of twenty-seven volumes as of July 2022 releasing the first volume in English in June 2020.
The storyline showcases Kazuya Kinoshita who is dumped by his girlfriend Mami Nanami after dating for a month. He later decides to use an online dating app to rent a girlfriend named Chizuru Mizuhara represented as a charming girl.
She was inauthentic but as a comeback, he gives her a low rating. Chizuru took the next step as he got ahead with that during their next meeting as he realized that she is meaner than he expected. Kazuya’s grandmother is hospitalized which was later followed by a collapse, he brought Chizuru along with the relationship with his grandmother.

Chizuru ran away as Kazuya encountered each other with an immediate effect with a concerned structure. Kazuya received a call from his grandmother informing him and ultimately begging Chizuru to help him out, but she refused. Kazuya’s grandmother came over but she is left disappointed as Chizuru did not show up.
Chizuru heard their conversation as she arrived at Kazuya’s apartment with a cooked meal. But ultimately Chizuru agrees to be Kazuya’s girlfriend for one hour every Wednesday for a remark. Kazuya encounters Mami again for the first time since they broke up after a week that remembered all the old memories. Kazuya notices Mami and proceeds to insult him.
Chizuru angrily calls out to Mami, but Kazuya stands up for Mami as being a support system.
Eventually, Kazuya continues renting Chizuru to keep up the image with his family and friends, but things get complicated when they discover they are next-door apartment neighbors and attend the same college bringing a drastic change in the continuity of the series.
The series is adapted by TMS Entertainment that aired from July to September 2020 on MBS’s Super Animeism block with the second season in July 2022. Kazuya’s former girlfriend appears to be a friendly person on the outside but harbors jealous and possessive feelings that scare her friends. Though as the series proceeds she was shocked and suspicious that Kazuya has found another girlfriend immediately after she dumped him that was a shocker.
A live-action television drama adaptation also premiered in July 2022. Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 2 Episode 5 titled “Birthday and Girlfriend” as a part of representation that will release on Friday, July 29, 2022. With streaming partner Crunchyroll with Season 2 though the series is not available on streaming platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix, or Hulu. Stay tuned for more updates on season 2.
