There are five distinct editions of NBA 2K23 available, leaving gamers and NBA enthusiasts unsure of which is best for them this year.
The final day of the NBA season in 2022 and 2023 has come and gone. Fans of each team are optimistic about the upcoming season as they try to win the NBA Championship and the Larry O’Brien Trophy. It’s also a great time for gamers to go back to NBA 2K23 and see what each version has to offer.
The most recent version of NBA 2K is released by 2K Sports each year. It includes new features to enhance the game and address the numerous issues that fans have experienced in previous versions. This season, 2K released more editions than ever before, offering both digital and physical versions of five different options. Gamers who are still debating which version to buy have many options.
Standard Edition
NBA 2K23’s Standard Edition only includes the base game. Although it is the cheapest of the versions, players hoping to get an early advantage in MyTEAM or MyCareer will be disappointed. For $59.99, you can get the Standard Edition for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. Players will pay $69.99 for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions, an additional $10.
WNBA Edition and Dreamer Edition
The Dreamer Edition of NBA 2K23 is a GameStop exclusive and is only available on the PS5 and Xbox Series X. The WNBA Edition costs $69.99, just like the next-generation Standard Edition, but gamers get a few extra rewards. Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi jerseys, which can be worn in both the MyCareer and The W modes, will be provided to purchasers. It should be noted that this version is currently out of stock; however, fans may be able to acquire additional copies through the secondary resale market.
The Dreamer Edition hasn’t come out yet, and 2K Sports hasn’t said what extras will be included. However, fans are aware that J. Cole will be featured on the cover of this edition, making it a likely future collectible. The Dreamer Edition’s cost is also unknown at this time.
Micheal Jordan edition
Even though the Michael Jordan Edition isn’t the most expensive, it probably offers the best value for gamers who want to start with more features. This version is available for $99.99 on any physical or digital platform and comes with 100,000 virtual currency that can be used in any game mode. In addition, the MJ Edition includes a Ruby Coach Card Park, a Diamond Jordan Shoe, a Sapphire Devin Booker Card, a Ruby Michael Jordan Card, 10,000 MyTEAM points, 10 MyTEAM Tokens, 23 MyTEAM Promo Packs, and a Free Agent Option Pack.
Gamers who want to upgrade their own custom player can take advantage of a lot of boosts in this version as well. The Michael Jordan Edition provides players with ten boosts for each type of in-game skill, ten boosts for each type of Gatorade boost, four t-shirts featuring each of the cover stars of NBA 2K23, a two-hour Double XP Coin, an exclusive backpack, an exclusive arm sleeve, and a skateboard that has been specially designed by the cover stars to help them navigate The City.
Digital Deluxe Edition
The Digital Deluxe Edition is the best choice for players who still have an older console. The only difference between this version and the Michael Jordan Edition is that it lacks the 100,000 Virtual Currency. The Digital Deluxe Edition, on the other hand, offers gamers a free upgrade from PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S. Although it costs $79.99 more than the Standard Edition, all of the bonuses make it well worth the extra money.
Championship Edition
The Championship Edition is the final version of NBA 2K23. This edition is designed for gamers who are also avid NBA fans in real life. It is expensive, but it offers a lot of value. For $149.99, the Championship Edition includes all of the features of the Michael Jordan Edition, as well as a Michael Jordan-themed go-kart that can be used to quickly move around The City in MyCareer mode and a lifetime 10% XP boost on both MyTEAM and MyCareer progression. However, the most significant benefit is outside of the game itself: it provides customers with a 12-month NBA League Pass subscription, which entitles them to year-round access to all NBA games.
