A die-hard fan of God of War Ragnarok has crafted an awe-inspiring 1:1 scale replica of Kratos’ Leviathan Axe. This weapon made its debut in 2018’s God of War and was Kratos’ go-to tool for the entire Norse saga of the franchise. It was created by the dwarven blacksmiths, Sindri and Brok, and was made to be an equivalent of Thor’s Mjolnir.

In the game, players saw the two weapons face off against each other during Kratos’ fight against Thor in the first half of God of War Ragnarok. The axe could be upgraded throughout the game by the dwarves, which would alter its appearance as more attachments were added.

The latest creation by the crafting nerd is a wooden and metal engraved 1:1 scale Leviathan Axe, which has left many fans in awe.

To ensure that the size was accurate, the artist used Kratos’ height in the game to calculate the correct proportional scale and then created the weapon’s template.

Though they couldn’t recall how long the entire process took, they mentioned that the carving and shaping of the wooden handle took them around five days.

The response to thecraftingnerd’s creation has been overwhelmingly positive, with fans showering them with compliments for their craftsmanship and attention to detail. Some even jokingly asked if the Leviathan Axe was “Fimbullwinter-proof,” and what would happen if someone pressed the triangle button on their PlayStation controller to recall the axe.

The Norse era of God of War began in 2018 and since then, the Leviathan Axe has become just as iconic as Kratos’r Original weapons, the Blades of Chaos. This is evident from Sony’s promotional stunt of dropping a massive Leviathan Axe near the London Eye, with glowing runes on the handle and blade.

As God of War Ragnarok marks the end of the Norse era, fans speculate about Kratos and Atreus’ next mythical adventure, with rumors pointing towards Celtic or Aztec mythologies. However, Sony Santa Monica has yet to reveal its plans for the future of the God of War franchise.

God of War Ragnarok is a critically acclaimed action-adventure game that was released for the PS4 and PS5 in 2021.

The game is developed by Sony Santa Monica and is the final installment in the Norse era of the God of War franchise. The game follows the journey of the protagonist, Kratos, and his son Atreus as they venture through the Nine Realms of Norse mythology.

The game features action-packed gameplay that emphasizes brutal hand-to-hand combat and puzzle solving

Players control Kratos as he wields his iconic Leviathan Axe, a magical weapon that can be upgraded throughout the game. The game’s story is also noteworthy, as it delves into the relationship between Kratos and Atreus and the themes of fatherhood and family.

In conclusion, God of War Ragnarok has cemented its place in video game history as an award-winning title, and the craftsmanship demonstrated by thecraftingnerd in creating the 1:1 scale replica of the Leviathan Axe only adds to the game’s legacy. The game is available now for PS4 and PS5.
