Shocking!!! The Blacklist Season 9: Are Amir Arison and Laura Sohn Leaving After Nine Seasons in the Series’ Final Episode, Revealed the Truth …

“I can’t live with what’s going on inside of me for very long. I don’t understand how anybody could.”

On The Blacklist, Raymond Reddington has stated a lot of depressing things, but those sixteen words, which he muttered while trying to sum up his grief over Liz’s murder, could just be the most gloomy things he’s ever said.

These two phrases embody not only the general tone of Thursday’s episode of the NBC drama but also the general vibe of the show overall, which marked its second appearance since Liz was abruptly (and probably) killed off.

As the hour progresses, we are privy to how each member of the FBI task force is coping with Liz’s death. Even though none of them are falling apart quite as badly as Red, none of them have quite reached the acceptance stage of grief, either. As the hour progresses, we are privy to how each member of the FBI task force is coping with Liz’s death.

Despite this, there is only so much time that can be spent publicly lamenting Liz’s passing. After the team has finished saying goodbye to their friend and laid him to rest — complete with eulogies from Cooper and Aram that probably had you ugly crying all over the place — their focus shifts to investigating the unidentified group that was looking for Liz on the day of her wedding.

Even though Aram is in an emotional shambles and could seriously use a helping hand from Red, the tech guru for the task force manages to pull himself together and zero in on who was surveilling Liz the day she died: an anonymous team of mercenaries who use a global satellite network to keep track of their targets.

In the days that have passed after Liz’s passing, it would appear that the unidentified assailants have moved their attention to Benjamin Stalder, a strong executive at the Energy Consortium Group. And because it’s quite likely that you have no desire to read a summary that’s 10,000 words long, I’m going to go straight to the point about the Stalder situation.

Even though the mercenaries injured or killed a significant portion of Stalder’s security team, he was still able to flee the country before the unknown assailants could get their hands on him. However, his departure from the United States may not be such a good thing after all.

Cooper concludes that Stalder must be linked in some way to the tragic end that Liz met, despite his earlier assertion that he had no idea who “the fugitive” was, other than what he had learned about Liz from the news. This realization occurs during the concluding acts of the episode.

Cooper discovers, with the assistance of security footage from Stalder’s hotel, that one hour before the energy exec was kidnapped by the mercenaries, he met with a mysterious, dark-haired woman (played by Famke Janssen, who will make her official debut in the episode airing next week), for a conversation that, even via grainy security snapshots, seems to be intense. Cooper also learns that this meeting took place one hour before the energy And that’s not the end of it.

Tom starts following Cynthia Panabaker, the White House counsel after Cooper recruits Tom to assist with the case. Cooper recruited Tom to help with the case. When Cynthia arrives at the airport that evening, she too has a brief conversation with Janssen’s character. He follows her as she heads to the airport that day, and he doesn’t let up as she gets there. But who exactly is this lady?!

Tom makes a wild guess that she is Liz’s mother, Katarina Rostova, as he and Cooper look over their photos of her. However, as we all know from the episode from last week, this could not be further from the truth. Tom and Cooper look over their photos of her. (Hmm, it would be nice if a backdoor pilot were coming up that revealed her participation in this whole situation…. oh, wait!

You may be wondering where Red has been during all of this, and the short answer is that he pays an unexpected visit to Liz’s grandfather, Dom, to inform him of Liz’s passing away. Anyway, you may be wondering where Red has been during all of this.

The revelation has left Dom in a state of utter devastation, and he is more resentful of Red than he was before, especially when one considers that Red was partially to blame for the deaths of both Dom’s daughter and granddaughter.

Aram makes a last-ditch effort to visit Dom at his home in the hope of persuading Red to re-join the task force and contribute to their investigation into Liz’s rivals.

Red, to no one’s surprise, flat-out refuses; however, when Dom tells Red a compelling story about the hopelessness he felt when Katarina died, Red has a change of heart, and he agrees to get back in the saddle alongside Aram and the FBI team. Red’s refusal comes as no surprise to anyone.
