Evolve is a FPS game developed by Turtle Rock Studios and published by 2K Games. The game was launched in February 2015 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Since the game’s launch, the player count started dropping gradually. In June 2016, the game had just 234 peak user count.
Evolve Goes Free-to-Play:
To prevent the game from dying, Turtle Rock Studios made Evolve a free-to-play game. Since that move, the game has gained 1,000,000+ new players and it is healthy again. Turtle Rock Studios is giving free skin for hunter griffin to those who play the game between now and Monday.

Evolve was a quite successful game when it launched more than a year ago but it had difficulties maintaining the player-base. The developers will also keep adding new content to the game to maintain the player count. The game is now free-to-play on Steam. The game has reached a peak player-count of 51,099 players since the move. This is even better than the game’s player count when it got released.
