The Xbox One S is Microsoft’s refresh to the original Xbox One console. It has minor improvements, such as 4K-movie playback and a 4K Blu-Ray player. The Xbox One S is also a lot smaller and power efficient. However, Microsoft has something big in the works for the next year. The Xbox Scorpio is going to be Microsoft’s answer to the Sony PlayStation 4 Pro.
Xbox Scorpio Will Cost More Than The Xbox One S, Says Phil Spencer
The head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, said in an interview with levelup.com that the Xbox Scorpio will cost more than the Xbox One S. The 2TB Xbox One S currently costs $400. This means that the Xbox Scorpio will easily cost more than $400.
“Scorpio will be a premium console. It will cost more than (the Xbox One) S obviously. That’s how we’re building it. We haven’t announced price points for Scorpio yet, but I want to make sure that the investments we’re putting into the product of Scorpio meets the demands of the higher end customer, and that will be a higher price.”

Spencer further explained that the company does not want to pin the users to a specific console. For the high-end market, they’re readying the Xbox Scorpio, which will obviously cost more. He further said:
“For us, when we think about Scorpio, it’s for a higher-end customer who demands the most they can get out of a console, and we built a console to meet that demand.”
So there you have it, guys. If you are a power user and you have a 4K UHD display, the Xbox Scorpio is the thing for you. But, if you just want to sit back and game at a budget-friendly price, you can get the Xbox One S. The Xbox Scorpio will be officially unveiled in 2017, probably at the E3 conference in LA.
