Microsoft’s Xbox One S was the first refresh we saw for this console generation. Featuring a much improved design, subtle performance increase paired with HDR and 4k video playback, the Xbox One S was the go-to hot console until the PlayStation 4 Pro released last month.
Considering the tough and strong competition from Sony’s offering, Microsoft is adding a $30 gift code with the Xbox One S this Christmas. Amazingly enough, Xbox fans would be able to choose from three bundles, FIFA 17, Gears Of War 4 or Minecraft.
Obviously, this isn’t an amazing sale, although we can’t deny that the Xbox One S was already priced good enough. Offering a $30 gift card may lure in some, but Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro seems like the way to go for right now unless you want to get into the Xbox ecosystem.
And no…..the POS4 PRO is not the way to go….!.! In all honesty the Xbone S is a better deal and this is coming from a guy who doesn’t even own one….just a sorry launch version of the POS4!
Dollars to dollars the xbone s puts both of Sony’s systems to shame just with its included UHD Blu-Ray player. Man Sony really missed the calling on this one.
I upgraded from PS4 to Pro mostly because my Plasma 1080p TV died and
went out and got a 4K HDR TV. I felt the PS4 on the 4K looked lousy. So
with that and out of HD space along with a PSVR unit down the road it
made sense. And it once again looks freaking amazing. Great buy. If your
still on a 1080p screen I would not update. But for any who are on a
4KHDR TV or without a PS4, the Pro is an easy buy.
Yes it should have had a 4K player in the Pro, but not an “end of game” reason not to get one.
As for the XB1s it’s a great system, but I was waiting for Scorpio. But
now with all the PS4/PSVR games it’s just to many games to play so think
I’m going to pass on Scorpio unless Crackdown 3 knocks it out of the
park! Then Quantum, Cuphead, Gears 4. C3 and the 4K player might be
workable, but prob not. Time man…argh.
I hear you on everything, but I can not justify buying a system at that price point “and” buying s VR headset for just that system and its personally tailored games. Over a grand for the “options” of my system to be truly realized. I’m good on that.
I do think the only think holding me back from an S is the Scorpio. Just not sure I can hold out until then. I am sure my pockets can say otherwise.
