Sony is one of the top-dogs in the smartphone market. Despite the brand being overlooked by a number of consumers, Sony has had an excellent record of building excellent smartphones for masses. Sticking true to its boxy design, Sony’s smartphones still look amazing in 2017. With the company willing to regain its market share among the top-dogs, Sony seems to be working on a new flagship for 2018 that would pack a 4K display and a host of beastly internals.
A recently leak made its way onto Reddit that allegedly claims to be a spec sheet of Sony’s upcoming flagship codenamed the H8541. Here’s the key specs from the leak.
Sony H8541 Alleged Specifications
- CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 835
- Display: 5.7-inch TRILUMINOS display
- Corning Gorilla Glass 5
- Memory: 4GB RAM
- Storage: 64GB UFS 2.1 Storage
- IP65/68 Water Resistance
- Bluetooth 5.0
- Android OS: Android 8.0 Oreo
- Connector Type: USB Type-C Charging Port
- Battery Capacity: 3420mAh Battery
Not only are these internals top-notch if Qualcomm doesn’t announce the Snapdragon 845, but the phone itself seems to be impressive overall capable of calling itself a flagship from Sony. Considering Sony’s recent records, it seems like Sony would most probably opt for a 16:9 display again staying true to its legacy, yet classy design that I still seem to adore.
However, based on what other rumors claim about Samsung’s Galaxy S9, it seems like the competition in 2018 is about to get a whole lot tougher.
