Paul Auster’s Son Was Arrested for a Ten-month-old Daughter’s Death From a Drug Overdose.

The son of best-selling author Paul Auster, Daniel, has been arrested via new york police on charges of manslaughter following the overdose death of his ten-month-old daughter.

Auster, (age- 44), was babysitting his daughter Ruby on November 1 when called the police at his Brooklyn County residence. That’s according to nearby media, who reported that the emergency services that answered to her domestic observed her unconscious and transported her to the medical institution, where she was confirmed dead.

Two of Daniel’s neighbors told The Post on Saturday that after his daughter died, they walked by the apartment building where he lived and saw infant items outside for anyone to take.

“Everything — all the baby clothes, books, toys — it was just heartbreaking,” said one of the residents who didn’t want her name used.

An autopsy has now found out that the kid suffered an overdose of fentanyl and heroin, however, it isn’t always known how she ingested the medicine. Daniel Auster, who has a drug-related criminal record, was arrested Friday night and charged with involuntary manslaughter and negligent homicide.

His father, Paul Auster, is a novelist and has received several awards, which include the Princess of Asturias Award for Literature in 2006.

He was arraigned in Brooklyn criminal courtroom Sunday and ordered held on a $250,000 bond. He was represented by using a legal resource Society attorney.“this example is painfully tragic, and Mr. Auster stays devastated over the loss of his beloved daughter Ruby,”

It is not the first time Daniel Auster has had a brush with the law.

During his teenage years, Daniel started going to clubs in New York City and became heavily involved with drugs, according to The New Yorker.

The author’s son has a troubled past — his name surfaced in the infamous 1996 “club kid Killing” of Andre “Angel”  Melendez 26, a manhattan club scene drug provider. Club youngster Michael Alig and his roommate Robert Riggs pleaded to manslaughter in the homicide and dismemberment of Melendez.

Then 20-year-old Auster pleaded guilty to stealing $3,000 from Melendez’s body and got 5 years probation. He became additionally arrested for drug possession in 2008 and 2010 and petty larceny and ownership of stolen property in 2009, authorities said.
