Novel Series Overlord Season 4 is Back With Episode 4; Transitional Arena With Unexpected Facts, Officially Release Date

It is a Japanese light novel series that is written by Kugane Maruyama. The series consists of fifteen volumes that have been published since July 2012. The novel adaption consists of four seasons with thirteen episodes while first season aired from July to September 2015.

The story portrays the era of 2126 as a Full-Dive Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game or MMORPG that is called YGGDRASIL with the high ability for the player to interact with the game.


Characters of the game exist as a guild, Ainz Ooal Gown consists of 41 members and has been ranked as one of the strongest guilds in the game. The representation of the “Overlord” character named Momonga, continues to play as the guild leader that simultaneously maintained the headquarters in The Great Tomb of Nazarick. With a shutdown in the hill the minutes before the shutdown as he invites the remaining guild members ultimately.

The arena of the virtual reality game Yggdrasil as an initiate. Momonga is represented as a powerful wizard and master of the dark guild Ainz Ooal Gown who gradually decides to spend his last few moments in the game as the servers. As the series proceeds Momonga is conscious as his character that appeared intending to have developed personalities.

Though Ainz is depressed in the series as surrounded by loyal servants and misses his former guild members. As the series proceeds, Ainz established an orphanage in E-Rantel to identify talented individuals at a young age for the benefit of Nazarick.


Later on, Albedo reveals that E-Rantel is suffering a lack of resources as merchants but now Ainz is a king for the dominance. Albedo is granted permission to visit Re-Estate. The portrayal of the personality Ainz represents as he would be proud if he grew beyond his original programming although he asks this be kept secret in case.

Ainz worries about gaining a level as the Floor Guardians still see humans as lesser creatures. Ainz approaches Ainzach as the master of the local adventurer’s guild.  Gradually Ainz announces his plan to rule both human and non-human species in a kingdom as a collaboration together in peace.

The second season ran from January to April 2018 while the third season ran from July to October 2018 and the fourth season premiered in July 2022. A manga adaptation is by Satoshi Ohio, from November 26, 2014. The manga is licensed in North America by Yen Press.
