The Elden Ring’s Two Fingers are monstrous entities that serve as liaisons between the Erdtree’s Golden Order and the Greater Will, a godlike power from outer space. The Two Fingers can be found on the majority of the Divine Towers, and one for each of the Empyreans, people like Ranni who are candidates to be risen to become gods. Ranni’s two fingers, on the other hand, are huge and shaped.

She pulls the dead monster from the ground and wonders if there’s more to it than meets the eye. The first fan theory she addresses is whether Ranni’s Two Fingers are Three Fingers, which unfortunately does not appear valid. There is no evidence of a third finger in the model, though a strange “knuckle” at its base can only be explained as a fold from the hand crumpling on itself.
Ranni’s Two Fingers, on the other hand, are odd in more ways than one. They are enormous compared to other Two Fingers, as previously stated, and this could be due to their status as Empyrean Two Fingers or related to Ranni specifically. They also lack hair, which can be noticeable or not.
According to Zullie, nothing else in Elden Ring can help solve the mystery of Ranni’s Two Fingers. She mentions that if FromSoftware releases DLC with another Empyrean Two Fingers, it could provide some exciting answers. Still, WithSoftware has so many DLC options it could focus on various topics.
The Two Fingers in Elden Ring will eventually become a topic that players will never wholly understand. This is, unfortunately, common in FromSoftware games. Its worlds are vast, captivating, and far from complete, but this is intentional due to the nature of game development. That’s irritating and a big part of what makes Elden Ring great.
