It is with great sadness that we report the death of Taylor Hawkins, the highly acclaimed drummer for the Foo Fighters, Alanis Morissette, and his own band. Hawkins was a true pioneer in the world of rock music, and his unique style helped to define an entire generation of sound. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Hawkins passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was 50 years old.
The Foos have announced that they’re canceling all of their future concerts in order to absorb themselves into healing. The band’s statement reads, “It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our founder and drummer Taylor Hawkins.” They went on further explain how his musical spirit will live forever through what he started—the Foo Fighters family!

This year alone will see them inducted into both The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame alongside other icons like Bruce Springsteen or nearer yet Snoop Dogg!
I can’t help but think that Taylor is missing his old life. The one where he was outgoing and fun to be around, even for just an autograph or two at first! It’s hard not knowing what it would feel like in this big huge world without him here anymore…
