Duke and Duchess of Cambridge
Duke of Cambridge, one of the eight current royal dukedoms in the United Kingdom as of 2021, is a hereditary title of the specific rank of nobility in the British Royal family. The title which is named after the city of Cambridge in England; is heritable by male descendants by primogeniture, and has been conferred upon members of the British Royal Family several times.
The title of Duke of Cambridge was first created in 1660 and superseded an earlier title of Earl of Cambridge.
The title became extinct several times before being revived in 2011 when Queen Elizabeth ll bestowed it on her grandson Prince William on 29 April 2011, upon his marriage to Catherine Middleton. And after that Catherine is known as the Duchess of Cambridge.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have recently appointed a former triathlete as their new PR chief. This royal couple has turned to Lee Thompson – a Leeds University Graduate and a former Team GB Triathlete; to help improve their image following their recent tour of the Caribbean, when the role of the monarchy in the religion was widely questioned.
The Duke and Duchess visited the Caribbean in March, and during the tour, Prince William said it’s up to the people of Belize, Jamaica, and the Bahamas to decide their future relationship with the UK. The 39-year-old prince explained that he was “committed to service” and he didn’t have any intentions of telling the people in the region what to do.
Before working at the London office of the US network, Lee worked at the Association of Chief Police Officers and top PR firm Freuds. It is described by the former employees as “the British-born fitness enthusiast rose to the rank of Vice President of Internationa Communications, Marketing, and Strategic Partnerships at CBNC after joining the company in 2015.”
In Parallel to his flourishing career, the fitness enthusiast began taking part in triathlon competitively in 2015. Though he was never a high-profile athlete, Lee has managed to finish third at the 2018 Fyn ITU Duathlon World Championships.
The last competition he took part in was the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Poland Last year. But now, the exec is expected to go the distance for Cambridge.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are preparing to move their family out of London, taking up residence in a house on the Queen’s Windsor Estate, according to reports. Their plan was to make Anmer a permanent base after the children are through the school years, the friend of Prince William added.
There has long been speculation that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge could move into Windsor Castle one day as the Prince of WAles does not plan to reside mainly at Buckingham Palace when he is king.
