Marvel Studios May Be Planning a Disney Plus Plan With Werewolf by Night as the Beginning.

Werewolf By Night is the new “special presentation” from Marvel Studios, ushering in a new era for the cinematic universe. Because it will not be a movie or a television series, Marvel Studios is referring to it as a “special presentation,” and it may not be the last MCU project to do so.

Werewolf By Night marks Marvel Studios‘ first foray into the horror genre, as the setting is much darker than in previous projects. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was their first foray into the darker side of storytelling, blending lightheartedness with minor terror scenes.

According to The Cosmic Circus, Marvel Studios is thinking about creating more Special Presentations instead of the standard 6-9 episode series. Certain MCU projects for Disney Plus that have already been reported on could be developed as Special Presentations, according to the outlet, though specific titles were not named. These new specials, unlike Werewolf by Night or The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, would not be tied to specific holidays. The goal is to create MCU content for Disney Plus that does not require multiple episodes to tell the story.

It’s understandable that Marvel Studios would want to increase viewer engagement by ditching the episodic format of shows like She-Hulk. Many people do not finish shows in general because they miss an episode or two and then catch up later. With all of the content on streaming platforms, it’s more difficult for fans to keep up with everything because their attention is constantly fought over by entertainment industries. Special Presentations imply that they will be able to get in and out in less than an hour of viewing content.

This will result in more fans being fully informed about everything going on in the world of the MCU, rather than fans being kept in the dark because they didn’t finish a show or watch every episode of a series in its entirety. Hopefully, fans will appreciate this new format in the future. It may also allow VFX staff to alleviate the growing workload imposed by all of the content Marvel Studios is currently producing.

Many people support Marvel Studios because they don’t want them to fail, but only time will tell how their cinematic legacy will look when all is said and done. Hopefully, fans will appreciate this new format in the future.
