The Galaxy Watch 4 is currently one of the best Wear OS-powered smartwatches available. It’s also the only smartwatch that comes with Wear OS 3 out of the box. With best-in-class technology and frequent software updates, the Galaxy Watch 4 has only gotten better over time. The watch is currently receiving a new update that includes a few additional features.
The Galaxy Watch 4 is getting a fresh software update from Samsung. The update is 356.99MB in size and has the build number R870XXU1FVC8. The deployment has so far only gone live in the United States, with more regions set to follow suit in the following days.
In terms of new features, the update adds some improvements to the Samsung Health feature. Samsung’s official changelog, on the other hand, doesn’t go into great depth about what enhancements are coming. The security patch level has been raised to March 2022 as a result of the update. Apart from these modifications, the changelog doesn’t mention anything new, thus it appears to be a minor update.
Changelog for the latest version:
- Samsung’s Health Function has been improved.
- The stability and dependability of the system have improved.
Keep a watch out for the latest software update if you possess a Galaxy Watch 4. To check for the update, go to Watch Settings > Watch software update in the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone. On your Galaxy Watch 4, go to Settings > Software Update.
In February, the Galaxy Watch 4 received a major upgrade that included an enhanced interval goal feature for cyclists and runners, a sleep coaching program, new watch faces, and customization options, and new body composition insights, among other things. The Galaxy Watch 4 will also get Google Assistant functionality and the option to stream music via the YouTube Music app in a future update.
The update comes with software version R87xXXU1FVC8 for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, according to Samsung’s official changelog. It is currently available to customers in the United States, with more territories to follow in the following days. The March 2022 security patch is included in the upgrade.
Features of Watch 4:
It has a memory of 1.5GB RAM + 16GB Internal Memory with the connectivity of LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4+5GHz, NFC, A-GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo.
Aside from that, the changelog notes increased system stability and reliability as well as some Samsung Health upgrades. We may presume this is a small upgrade because Samsung is being cryptic about what these changes include.
Without a phone, the Galaxy Fit, Fit2, and Galaxy Watch4 series are useless. It’s not a problem if you don’t have a phone! You can still use your watch when it’s alone with certain watch models. Swipe up and then hit the question mark icon when your watch turns on for the first time.
