Users of the Xbox Series X should prepare to say goodbye to a useful feature.

Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (together, the Xbox Series X/S) are home video gaming systems. They were both launched on November 10, 2020, like the Xbox console family’s fourth generation, following the Xbox One family.

The Xbox Series X and Series S, along with Sony’s PlayStation 5, will be released in November 2020 as part of the 9th generation of video game systems.

Both consoles have a similar user interface (UI) as the Xbox One, however, memory usage has been reduced by 40% to boost speed.

According to the UI development team, the Home section loads around half as fast as it did on the Xbox One. Other changes include the addition of rounded UI elements, a more readable font for text elements, the reorganization of certain alignment features, and enhancements to the sharing functions.

Around September 2020, these updates were implemented in the Xbox One system software, the Windows Xbox application, and the Xbox mobile application. According to system previews, around 200 GB of space was designated on the Xbox Series X’s internal disc for system files.

The Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S appear to lack a very essential feature. According to emerging reports, a recent upgrade from within Xbox deleted the Xbox feature without explanation or notice, suggesting that it was a bug or an accidental change.

In any case, Xbox fans are dissatisfied since sharing game videos directly from the device is likely to become much more tedious.

Taking to Twitter, Windows Central journalist Jez Corden reported that the feature for sharing game footage from Xbox straight to Twitter has been deleted as of the new Xbox Insider version. “I believe this verifies it. “Sharing Xbox gaming video directly to Twitter is gone,” Corden tweeted.

The update today adds several ‘tokens’ to the mobile sharing option, with EPIC sending a notification to your phone. Weak. Direct sharing is supported by the Nintendo Switch (and maybe the PlayStation). Extra steps are added for no purpose. A feature that we’ve had for years has been removed for no apparent reason.

Of course, considering the bad criticism this modification is receiving, it will most likely be reversed before it reaches the broader Xbox user base. This isn’t the first time an Xbox Insiders update has made a modification only to have that change reversed due to a fan reaction.

Xbox had no idea what was going on at the time of publication. Not only was no rationale or explanation offered, but no remark was made about the criticism, leading Xbox fans to wonder if this adjustment was a bug or if it will be reinstated in the future. However, if this changes, we will make sure to update the story.
