Mako Komuro, a former Japanese princess, is said to be helping at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The ex-royalty arrived in the city around six months ago. According to The Japan Times, she is now working on a MET show concentrating on Japanese scroll paintings.

The former princess is well-versed in the art and curating. She graduated from Tokyo’s International Christian University with a degree in art and cultural heritage. She also has a master’s degree from the University of Leicester in art museum and gallery studies.

She has been combining her royal obligations while working as a special researcher at the University of Tokyo’s Museum since graduation.

Mako Komuro is the daughter of Japan’s Crown Prince, Fumihito. In 2021, she made waves when she gave up her royal titles to marry Kei Komuro. Kie is a commoner who also happens to be her college lover.

Her 2017 engagement sparked years of media and public scrutiny. In addition, a controversy arose as a result of financial conflicts involving Kei’s mother. However, in September 2021, the former Japanese princess stated that she will decline the $1.3 million payments to which she was entitled.

On October 26, the pair married and relocated to New York to begin a new life. Both the media and the general public have seen the two around New York City since then. Kei Komuro was also sighted at a test hall for the New York State bar exam. This was his second try at the qualifying.
