Mod Sun, 31 years old and formerly of My Chemical Romance has announced that he plans on marrying Avril Lavigne- who is 16 years younger than him! The couple met through friends when they were both just 14 years old in high school back home near Los Angeles. They’ve been dating since 2012 but didn’t announce their engagement until today due to family matters taking place nearby with scheduling conflicts between countries where each musical artist lives: US (Avrils), Canada(MDS) UK/EU
“When somebody tells you they’re going to propose on a boat in Paris with a violin player and champagne, it sounds like something out of this world. It was the most perfect proposal I could ever ask for,” says Lavigne 37, who adds that she felt “time stood still” during their special day together as he got down on one knee before her after pulling out what seemed like every rose available at hand.”
Mod, a 35-year old high school sweetheart popped the question with a custom-designed ring set in an intricate heart shape. The band was made from XIV Karats and had little hearts plucked right out of Beverly Hills!
“The most special gift I could ever imagine is finally in my grasp,” Lavigne says. She shows off her ring to us and we can see that it’s a heart-shaped diamond with ‘Hi Icon’ engraved on one side, which was the first word he said when introducing himself to me all those years ago at school careers fairs back home.”
When asked if she knew immediately that he was The One, Lavigne says it’s hard for people not to notice how much they love each other.
